Life of Lewa (LoL) story "Introduction"

Introduction

Four decades ago, in an alternate universe of space and time, the giant robot, Mata Nui, waged a battle on the planet Bara Magna against the evil Makuta who took order over his universe and cast Mata Nui into space. Mata Nui sought to reclaim his world, and free his people; and thus sought out a way to battle his evil brother with a robotic body of similar size. The battle was great, and Mata Nui fought valiantly till the end, when he reunited the moons, thus making Spherus Magna whole again; and at last Makuta was destroyed and no longer ruling over the Matoran. When the inhabitants of the Mata Nui universe came sprawling out onto a world of new opportunity, Mata Nui gazed down at them during his moment of replenishing the planet, and realized they would need a special gift, thus granting them the ability to blend and mingle with the surrounding cultures of Spherus Magna. It's during this time he realized the inhabitants of his universe would need a slight change in their basic structures, and shifted their molecular makeup, thus turning their metal based bodies into a form of organic metal compound, alongside their already organic muscle system. This change was made to the people of Mata Nui, so that their genetic coding would be transferable to their offspring, and thus grant their young valuable traits, like elemental abilities and strength
The inhabitants of Mata Nui went forward, and embraced the new cultures, adapting and interacting to their new environment. As years went by, cultures melded together, and the people of Spherus magna even adopted certain styles and customs, which a human of an alternate universe, named Pearllight; a quirky young lady with a robotic suit, and down to earth mentality, who’s been known to travel to alternate dimension by means of what she calls the gateway of dreams, introduced to them. She unintentionally started a new craze in the melding culture of this Spherus Magna…
Being that she was friends with the Toa Nuva before they even knew Mata Nui was a giant robot, she shared her tastes and cultural differences while living amongst them for awhile on their island; they then took interest in these cultural aspects, and encouraged her to be bold and share her cultural taste with others on Spherus Magna. She took their advise, and within a matter of years, an entirely mixed style formed amongst the different cultures, where steam punk met the 50’s, tribal met Victorian and retro, and sci-fi met art deco. An entirely different world began to form, all because of Pearllight… who didn’t expect her taste to be so widely embraced. These cultural aspects were however, just the beginning. Soon after the cultures of Spherus Magna adopted a few human customs, there came a day where time and culture shifted entirely. On this day Pearllight had a moment of strong dreaming; her dreaming so intense that it changed the Spherus Magna she knew entirely, and the world became something far more than it ever was before. Let us take a glimpse of this moment in history, and observe the time shift when all was changed on Spherus Magna....
As Pearllight stood on a distant cliff, looking over New Vulcanus, her mind was filled with thoughts and dreams, as it always is. She dreamt of her own interests, her planet, and even her nightmares as she gazed over this newly formed world and its melding society. In that moment a most strange occurrence happened; as she dreamt playfully of what Spherus Magna would be like crossed with her world, dreaming the changes, her eyes saw what at first seemed to be mere figments of her imagination, and yet these changes seemed so real. Suddenly the entire planet experienced an odd shift, which felt like a really big gust of wind that goes out, and then comes back. Pearllight is boggled by the sudden feeling, and when she comes to her senses, she realizes something isn't right.
As she gazes over New Vulcanus once more, she notices things that weren't there before; casinos, coffee shops, diners and such now existed alongside the normal things. There were more beings with different styles walking around, and a fear hung in the air amongst the locals, pertaining to nightmarish beings of the forest. Pearllight at first didn't understand, and went for a walk to find out more. As she listened in on local chatter, they spoke of the jungle types with an unease, a fear that didn't exist amongst the people before, and they mentioned of creatures called Jusha, (jungle shadow) beings. These Jusha were once relatives of the jungle type species, but fell into shadows, darkness, and evil ways long ago; how they came to be was still a bewildering question that hung amongst many.
Pearllight started to think, wondering why jungle types were suddenly feared. She understood that jungle types came across as hostile now and then, but never had she heard of Jusha, relatives of the jungle type species with such wickedness and aggression. Then it came to her, and Pearllight felt awful; she suddenly realized the only logical explanation to these changes must be related to the crystal of elements which hung around her neck. That's when she realized the necklace picked up on her brain waves during her moment of dreaming on the cliff, and changed the planet to fit her dreams....and even her nightmares. Pearllight then knew that the world she came to know was no longer the same; it was far more like the world she had come from, yet still far more alien than anything she had ever known.

During one moment in early history, Lewa was dragged off by distrusting jungle Agori (see Reign of Shadows from canon storyline). However, in this universe Lewa wasn’t harmed, but rather observed and released after about a week. Lewa came to love the jungle of Spherus Magna, and spent many happy years living in the tree tops.

About a decade later, unfortunately, a war broke out between jungle types and air types. The jungle types developed an attitude of superiority, feeling the Le-Koro inhabitants were weaker, less skilled in fighting, and not as intelligent. This angered the Le-Matoran, and a war broke out between the two cultures.
After two years of fighting, the opposing cultures of the forest separated themselves, which led to the labeling of air type and jungle type species. Both sides developed their own cultural pockets throughout the jungle; and separated themselves by building large, gated regions to mark off private villages belonging to either jungle or air types; and were heavily guarded to prevent the opposing villages from invading and pillaging. These gated regions were given names, and eventually developed a strong sense of duty to protect their land, leading to heavier military training, and thus being labeled as military camps. Both air types and jungle types developed this system, and finally the generals of each region got fed up with fighting. They saw what damage it caused, and how much harm it brought; so they gathered together and made a truce. Some regions embraced this truce, unfortunately some jungle types and air types still had grudges; but as a whole, the air and jungle regions started opening their gates to each other once more. However, some of the main camps still felt guarded, and didn’t open their gates freely for anyone. Certain jungle type camps were still highly distrusting, and wouldn’t even allow other jungle types from different regions to enter.
Over the next three decades, Lewa and the Nuva team aid in issues that come along the way, and Spherus Magna develops a very different cultural blend, resulting in some new species of sapient beings. Each region obtains its own unique culture and developing sub cultures, making Spherus Magna a very different world.

Speaking of Lewa, I wonder what he’s doing right about now…? Let’s say we take a look, and enter, the life of Lewa.
