This scene is from the second chapter of LoL "The Arena Match" when Venimbus first enter the arena in New Vulcanus.
Prepare yourself as you view the deadly beauty before you through Lewa's eyes. The arena doors open and out of the smoke screen comes a dazzling figure, the very woman who cornered Lewa the day before was now going to fight him in an intense arena battle.
I worked with quick lines to get a basic layout of the scene, had to tweak it before I felt partially satisfied; and I'm still not entirely happy with how it came out, but I guess it's good enough to express the general way this scene looks in my head.
I started off with a large canvas size, and then cropped it for a more up close and personal feel. Cropped version (above) original version (below). I'm still unsure which one I prefer; the original seems to make the arena seem large as it's meant to be, but it also seems to draw significance away from a very important character.
In my head this scene is huge; the arena looks even larger than this simple depiction of the main attendance doorway. To make it clear, the doorway in the back is pretty far behind Venimbus, who stands nearer to the middle of the arena floor.
I did my best to base New Vulcanus's arena off the old arena in Bionicle comics, hence that funny curved pillar shape with square carvings.
The audience sections should actually be higher up and have taller walls, but I didn't feel like fidgeting with it. Simple figure outlines with slapped on color seemed to do the
trick for making a general audience.
I felt the wall was a bit bare in the background, so I added some flags which represent the tribes of New Vulcanus. And then on either side are giant braziers made of black iron and copper. Each plate holds a heap of coals drenched with oil.
The arena doors are made of a thick wood, and are so heavy they must be opened with a chain and pulley system, hence the reason I added chains that go through holes in the wall.

A general overview of the arena in New Vulcanus: Everything is carved from stone and plastered with cob made from desert sands. The arena is overall very large, much like the arenas in Rome. The fire tribes of New Vulcanus kept to traditional building styles, to resemble their old arena.
The arena is meant to be a perfect circle, and has multiple corridors and seating areas. Behind the walls are special rooms for bathing, eating, and even lodging. The arena has stair ways and at least four to five floors of seating, all of which connects onto hallways that lead back downstairs. It's basically a fortress with many rooms.
Hooked onto this is a long hallway attached to a side door that leads into the arena itself , and this hallway leads to a special area specifically for medical, a very important aspect in an arena filled with battle. The medical facility of the arena doesn't follow the traditional styles like the rest of the building. The medical area is made to be efficient, well lit, and very clean; it contains odd equipment which is quite modern compared to a lot of the basic technology of this planet, and the place has special air vent filters which prevent dust from getting in.
